Administrator
- Manages school operations as directed by the Board of Directors
- Implements current programs
- Plans school calendar & events
- Oversees day-to-day activities
- Administrates contracts with Registrar and Accounting
- Interfaces with public officials (Superintendent of Public Instruction, school districts, homeschool officials)
- Coordinates all official Academy Northwest publications and in-school written communications, forms, PR/promotion of Academy Northwest
- Researches and develops new program options/services
- Oversees Bookstore and Resource Center
Administrative Assistant
- Coordinates information from families inquiring about the program to teachers and administrative staff by centralizing all phone communications through a toll-free phone number
- Writes and distributes teacher communications
- Coordinates field trips
- Helps plan staff activities and inservices
- Helps with the organization of outreach/public relations and activities such as Washington Association of Teaching Christian Homes and Washington Homeschool Organization conventions
- Coordinates graduation
- Completes secretarial tasks for the Administrator
Registrar
- Processes all registrations
- Assigns student, family, and teacher ID#s
- Maintains all student academic records including registration information, high school transcripts, immunization, and annual assessments (K-8)
- Communicates with Administrative team and Teacher Consultants regarding needed information for maintenance of accurate information
- Interfaces with all schools regarding records transfers
- Issues official transcripts to requesting institutions
- Sends each student 1 transcript per year and/or within 1 month of withdrawal
- Creates required reports to Superintendent of Public Instruction
Accounting Manager
- Receives and deposits all checks for Academy Northwest tuition and payments
- Writes all checks to Teacher Consultants for tuition collected, administrative team contracts, Academy Northwest accounts payable, invoices
- Interfaces with families w/delinquent accounts as per Academy Northwest policy
- Communicates with Teacher Consultants and families regarding account status
- Communicates with Teacher Consultants regarding delinquent accounts initiated
- Withdrawals for financial delinquency as per Academy Northwest policy
- Manages Academy Northwest general accounting books
- Assists the Administrator on budget management issues
- Oversees all work of the data entry/database
- Monitors all written financial contract changes
Administrative Rep
Diana McAlister
- Serves as spokeswoman for Academy Northwest to various education and governmental agencies
- Researches innovative approaches to education
- Monitors legislative activity pertaining to homeschooling
