Highlights from Academy Northwest's History

1981	Began as Stillaguamish Learning Exchange, a Washington State approved private school
1984-1985	Participated in WA Pilot Study for Home-Based Instruction as Family-Centered Learning Alternatives [FCLA]
1984	Sponsored state convention
1985	WA State passes a new homeschool law. FA model encoded as a private school offering an extension program and became Academy Northwest\|Family Academy
1986-1993	Sponsored numerous homeschool assemblies and student project fairs
1989	Non-Profit status established
1990-1995	Growth from a "Mom-Pop Store" to a Professional Service Corporation
1995	Began annual/semi-annual radio ads on Christian radio stations
1996	Began our own graduation ceremonies (We previously had graduates participate in the Washington Homeschool Organization graduation.)
1998	Accreditation with the National Private Schools Accreditation Alliance
1999	Web presence established
2004	Accreditation with the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools
