All of our teachers are experienced classroom instructors holding teachers' certificates. However, we call them teacher consultants since they function as academic advisors as well as instructors for students' educational programs.
The Teacher Consultant helps enrolled families in several ways:
- Consults with and assists parents in providing their student or students an individualized education.
- Helps parents create and enhance a meaningful home learning environment where students can learn at their own pace from a variety of resources.
- Assists parents to plan, document and evaluate the students' progress.
- Plans opportunities for student to interact with other students in educational activities intended to supplement the home learning.
- Provides on-going inservice training to help parents become more effective.
Parents typically choose the teacher consultant who lives the nearest to them. Parents may also select a teacher consultant using specific criteria, such as instructional style and teaching strengths, to match the particular needs of their students. Inquiring parents may want to contact 2 or 3 teachers before enrolling.
