Diana McAlister & Candice Broman Childs

Diana McAlister and Candice Broman Childs are certified teachers, experienced homeschooling parents, and have worked with homeschool students through Family Academy since the early 1980s. Diana and Candice discovered homeschooling through Dr. Raymond and Dorothy Moore, John Holt, and other late 1970s, early '80s, local homeschooling pioneers. Both became committed to homeschooling and, in 1981, founded Family Academy/Academy Northwest, an accredited private school, through which thousands of parents, teachers, and students have been trained in homeschooling. They are also the co-authors of Able To Teach, and Homeschooling the High Schooler.
