Business and/or personal Mission Statement
Northwest Learning Solutions is comprised of three multi-aged, non-denominational education centers focusing on family centered learning opportunities. Centers are located in Puyallup/Tacoma, Federal Way and Burien. A partnership is created between parents, student and teacher to create an individualized course of study for each student. It is my goal to foster academic excellence, personal integrity and the discovery that learning is a lifelong, enjoyable adventure.
Format of learning center
Learning center classes typically meet weekly, three times per month for 3 hour sessions. Sometimes additional (optional) classes are offered on a different day of the week. Different courses are offered each year and course requests from enrolled parents are met whenever possible. Quarterly teacher conferences assist parents and students in planning the complete academic program to meet requirements for middle school, high school and graduation (typically 6 or more credits per year). Students earn credit for all subjects through completion of individual course contracts for each subject. Course contracts are developed through the collaboration of the teacher, parent and student.
